Earthquake Insurance in Colorado

Insurance helps to protect you and your family from the hazards of a damaging earthquake, and assists in recovery.  There are many factors to consider when making a decision to obtain earthquake insurance: Type of construction, proximity to known earthquake zones, and whether you are protected sufficiently by existing policies are only a few.  One of the important things to ask about is the amount of the deductible.  They can be quite high for earthquake insurance.

Contacting an insurance company is the best way of obtaining specific information about policies and coverage.  Here are some references that will help you to research all of the aspects of obtaining earthquake insurance:

The Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association (RMIIA) is a non-profit insurance communications organization chartered to provide consumers with information and contacts in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.
The Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety conducts objective, scientific research to identify and promote effective actions that strengthen homes, businesses, and communities against natural disasters and other causes of loss.
