Uses of corn ethanol

Corn ethanol plant near Windsor, Colorado.Although this distilled alcohol product (remember corn mash, moonshine stills?) can be used for many purposes, it is most commonly used to mix with gasoline, particularly E85 gasoline.  E85 is a mixture of 85% gasoline and 15% ethanol.  One of the many concerns about this use of corn ethanol is that E85 is not as efficient as normal gasoline.
