Uses of Wind

Wind turbines in the Ponnequin Wind Farm on the High Plains of northeastern Colorado. Photo: Chris Carroll.Wind is great for flying kites and blowing dust around, and for many ranchers it was a great source for pumping water from below ground with windmills.  Today, it is increasingly used to generate electricity.  The wind turns the blades, that turn the generators, that generate electricity, that runs our computers, that help our lives become more efficient.
